Another Deer Makes Lakeview Backyard Home

A deer finds shelter in the backyard of a Lakeview home

Lakeview residents have a new neighbor.

A deer recently found shelter in the backyard of a home near Wrigley Field, neighbors told Chicago Wildlife News. Neighbors said the deer consistently returns to the yard throughout the day and nestles in each night.

The deer reportedly is so comfortable in the area that even a Roger Waters concert at Wrigley Field unfazed the animal.

Wildlife News reports Chicago Animal Care and Control is aware of the deer’s new residence but plans to leave the deer unless it is sick or injured.

Residents are advised not to feed the deer as it may keep the animal in the urban environment.

Last year, a similar situation involving a doe and her two fawns living in the back of an apartment complex in Boystown was escalated after residents began feeding the deer apples and milk.

Animal Care and Control moved the deer to a more suitable location with the help of wildlife experts from across the country and Lincoln Park Zoo.
