One person died and two were hospitalized this afternoon after a traffic accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to Illinois State Police.
The reported "pin-in" accident occured on the expressway near 95th Street, officials said.
The Chicago Fire Department tweeted two motorists in serious condition were sent to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, while the other was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Traffic on the expressway was down to three of five lanes.
