A car crash Satuday night on the Dan Rayn Expressway left one man dead and police searching for the cars driver.
The crash happened at around 11:05 near 47th street, according to Illinois State Police reports the .
Police said the car was speeding when it the driver lost control and hit a guard rail on the Dan Ryan, went up the grassy embankment then hit a traffic control box near the 47th street exit. The mangled car eventually stopped next to a bridge.
One of the passengers, 26-year-old Deandre M. Phair was died and another person in the car was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital in serious to critical condition. The driver of the car ran away from the accident and police have not found him.
