Cubs Players Use Social Media to Celebrate Heyward Signing

Heyward signed an eight-year contract with the Cubs on Friday

Chicago Cubs fans are understandably excited after the team landed free agent outfielder Jason Heyward on Friday, but Cubs players are also thrilled to see what the slick-fielding acquisition can do when he gets to Wrigley Field.

Several players congratulated Heyward on the deal when it was reported on Friday afternoon.

Kris Bryant, who won Rookie of the Year in 2015 and is looking to be a mainstay in the Cubs’ lineup for years to come, is apparently happy with the team landing Heyward, Ben Zobrist, and John Lackey:
