Pearl Jam Announces Concert at Wrigley Field

Tickets for the July 19 show on sale in February

It's official. Eddie Vedder will be rockin' out at Wrigley Field this summer.

The Cubs and Pearl Jam began dropping a series of not-so-subtle hints Tuesday about a possible show on their respective Twitter accounts. They came clean Wednesday morning, first with a Tweet from the band and a link to the July 19 event.

"IT'S OFFICIAL: Pearl Jam will be playing at Wrigley Field. Will you be there? #PearlJamJuly19"

The Cubs introduced the show on its marquee. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 9.

"Official: Live Nation and Wrigley Field will welcome @PearlJam, July 19," the Cubs tweeted.

The team on Tuesday had fun alluding to the show. The Cubs tweeted "Ten. #Staytuned," and included a picture of a team uniform with the number 10 -- not only the legendary Ron Santo's retired number, but the name of Peal Jam's most famous album.

Pearl Jam tweeted the #Staytuned hashtag along with a photo of a poster from a previous Chicago concert with My Morning Jacket.

Both accounts then tweeted a picture of Wrigley Field with a concert stage set up on the infield, and "Looking good" on Pearl Jam's feed.

Vedder remains a huge Cubs fan since his days growing up in Evanston, has thrown out the first pitch at a Cubs game and has sung the seventh-inning stretch numerous times.
