Cubs-Cardinals Game Postponed Wednesday

The Chicago Cubs game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field Wednesday was postponed as the area braced for more rain, sleet and snow.

The game was rescheduled to Thursday at 1:20 p.m. CT. Tickets will be honored at the makeup game.

The game is latest of many being canceled in Chicago due to unseasonable weather conditions.

This April is so far on track to be one of the coldest Aprils ever recorded in the city.

Wednesday was expected to rain showers developing west of the city during the late-morning hours.

The rain could begin as freezing rain as it inches into the Chicago area, transitioning to light rain and possibly even a thunderstorm or two heading into the afternoon.

The rain will begin mixing with sleet and snow to the north and west in the afternoon, ultimately turning to snow for the late-afternoon and evening hours for the rest of the area.

The snow will move across the area, lingering into early Thursday morning as flurries before fading out.

Thursday looks to be mostly dry but still unseasonably chilly with highs in the 40s.
