The Free Agency Round-Up

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh officially hit free-agency market

The 2010 NBA free agency class spilled onto the open market at 11:01 Wednesday night.

This year's starting lineup includes two-time MVP LeBron James, Chicago native Dwyane Wade and power forward Chris Bosh among others.

What's the latest on the athlete bonanza?

  • Split the threesome: If no team can sign LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh together, Chicago holds the best shot at James. If someone could pick up Loul Deng's contract, the chances would get even better. [ESPN]
  • Bloomin' Rose: A friend close to LeBron James says if Bulls star Derrick Rose was on the market, he would be in the same group as Wade, Bosh and James. A James-Rose-Joakim combo could net LeBron a quick championship. [si.com]
  • Fans Rule: Among the plusses for Chicago, the Bulls hold a passionate fan base, which includes President Obama, in the country's #3 market. (Picture the money in jersey sales alone!) [nj.com]
  • Sweet Home Chicago: Both Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh plan to host potential suitors here in Chicago. Is it a sign they want to make the city home?  Both share an agent here, but you never know! [NY Daily News]
  • Bosh Watch: According to twitter he's already had a visit from Chicago. [twitter.com/crishbosh]

Free agents can officially sign a contract July 8th. Until then, let the rumor mill swirl!
