Cops: Woman, 69, Sexually Assaulted, Robbed Outside Orange Line Stop

Police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting and robbing an elderly woman in a secured parking lot outside of the Chicago Transit Authority's Midway Orange Line station.

The 69-year-old woman exited an Orange Line train around 4:15 p.m. Friday in the 4600 block of West 59th Street and was entering her vehicle in a secured parking lot when she was forced into her car by an unknown offender, police said.

The man told the woman he was armed with a handgun and proceeded to sexually assault her, according to a community alert issued by Chicago police Saturday.

The man robbed the woman of her cash, cell phone and ATM card and drove her to various locations around Chicago where he made withdrawals from her bank account before he abandoned her and the vehicle on city’s West Side, the alert said.

Police said the offender is described as a black man around 20 years old, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 140-150 pounds.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Area Central Detectives at (312) 747-8380.
