Cops: Driver Charged with DUI in Fatal I-290 Crash

Police say a Chicago man was driving drunk and had drugs in his system when he was involved in a crash that killed two women on the Eisenhower Expressway in Forest Park Sunday.

Aaron Moore, 26, was charged with two counts of felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in death and two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs resulting in death, according to Illinois State Police.

He was also charged with two counts of leaving the scene of a fatal crash, police said.

The rear-end collision involving an SUV and a van happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 290 near the First Avenue exit, Illinois State Police Trooper Jonn-Paul Oliveto said.

Moore, who was driving a 2012 black Dodge Durango allegedly struck a 1998 Ford Windstar that was stalled on I-290 eastbound in the center lane.

The driver and back seat passenger of the Ford, a 30-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman, were killed on impact, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

A third passenger in the Ford, a 25-year-old woman, and Moore were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police are still investigating the crash.
