A two-year-old who was struck by a vehicle Friday morning has died from injuries suffered in the collision.
The child's grandmother was pushing the girl across the street in a stroller at 56th and Morgan at around 6:24 a.m. when the vehicle hit them. The driver is in custody and is being questioned by police.
The child was rushed to Comer's Children Hospital in critical condition, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The grandmother was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital, but officials said her condition isn't serious. She is, however, reported as being "emotionally distraught."
