Happy Monday, Bulls fans, and welcome to the weekend's wrap of team news and notes.
Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Derrick Rose stopped by St. Sabina on the South Side to show their support at the Peace Basketball Tournament, a day of peace in a section of the city's most violence-wrought neighborhoods.
Noah, Gibson and Rose all coached teams in the tournament, but the most exciting game was the double overtime thriller in Game 1 between Taj and Joakim's squads. Gibson’s team came out victorious after the game-winning shot from a player on Noah’s squad was called off due to a travel in the second overtime.
In Game 2, D. Rose coached against Chicago native and Orlando Magic swingman Quentin Richardson. Richardson’s team won by 14 points, but it wasn’t about wins or losses on Saturday. The event was peaceful and went off without a hitch, so to that end, everyone came out a winner.
But there were other Bulls stories that popped up around the Internet over the weekend. Here they are, in case you missed it:
- Taj Gibson is one of the Bulls' most important players and the team has made his re-signing a high priority. So fans will be excited to know that the two sides have entered into contract negotiations.
- Many Bulls fans have wondered if Derrick Rose would ever consider leaving Chicago and joining another team. But according to Reggie, Derrick's older brother, he doesn't see that happening.

- Omer Asik was one of the Bulls' key defensive players off the bench last season. Now he's in Houston, and his new Rocket's teammate, Jeremy Lin, says people underestimate Omer's offensive prowess.
