Chicago Native Anthony Davis Left Off Team USA

Davis suffered a sprained ankle on June 30th while working out with Team USA in Las Vegas

Chicago native and this year's number one overall NBA Draft pick of the New Orleans Hornets, Anthony Davis, was left off of the final roster of the 2012 USA Men's National Team that will compete in the upcoming London Olympic games in a few weeks.

Davis, the National Player of the Year in college basketball this season while playing at the University of Kentucky, suffered a severe ankle sprain while working out with Team USA in Las Vegas on June 30th. The injury to his ankle is most likely the cause of him being left off the team.

His size, athleticism, shot-blocking and rebounding ability would've proved valuable for Team USA who severely lack size and depth in the front court as New York Knicks center and former Chicago Bulls first round draft pick, Tyson Chandler, is the tallest player on the squad.

Davis will continue to get treatment for his injured ankle and will most likely compete for the Hornets during the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas beginning on July 13th.
