Chicago Schools Show Off Their Happiness

At least two Chicago schools want the world to know how happy they are

There’s a lot to be happy about Thursday.

Spring has officially arrived and it’s the 2nd Annual International Day of Happiness.

At least two Chicago schools want the world to know how happy they are.

Both Amundsen High School and Legacy Charter School made music videos to the hit song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, which has become an unofficial anthem for the 2014 day of happiness.

While Chicago’s weekend forecast isn’t exactly sparking smiles across the city, the videos are sure to perk up some faces.

The Legacy Charter School video aims to capture "the happiness surging through the hallways," according to the YouTube video's description, and Amundsen High School's video sports the hashtag #HAPPYDAY.

Grammy-winning producer and singer Williams partnered with the United Nations Foundation to celebrate the day of smiles and laughter.

A new video featuring his infectious song will be spotlighted each hour on 24hoursofhappiness.com.

Several schools and residents across the nation are joining the movement to show their happy spirit by posting their own themed videos on YouTube. See more videos here.
