Most tourists agree that you can't do much better than Chicago when looking for a place to visit.
That's according to the upcoming issue of Travel + Leisure magazine, which ranks Chicago No. 4 on its list of top destinations in the US and Canada.
The 2013 World's Best Awards readers' poll rated cities based on sights, culture/arts, restaurants/food, people, shopping and value.
Charleston, SC, took top honors, followed by San Francisco and New York.
The same survey ranked three Chicago hotels in its top 10 -- The Waldorf Astoria Chicago (2), The Peninsula Chicago (4) and Trump International Hotel & Tower (6).
Bangkok, Thailand was ranked the best city in the world to visit.
