Chicago Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot unveiled her transition team Wednesday and asked for resumes from city residents looking to join her administration.
"We are looking for the most talented and dedicated people from every neighborhood, and the best ideas from all over the city," Lightfoot said in a statement. "There is no limit to what we can do when we all work together."
Her transition team co-chairs include businessman Willie Wilson; Gloria Castillo, the president and CEO of Chicago United; The Field Foundation of Illinois' President Angelique Power; Samir Mayekar, CEO of NanoGraf Corporation; Penny Pritzker, PSP Partners founder; Robert Reiter, president of the Chicago Federation of Labor; Samuel Skinnner of Greenberg Taurig, LLP; and Maria Wynne, CEO of Leadership Greater Chicago.
She also named DePaul University Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Jeffrey Bethke to lead a transition task force on the city's budget deficit and financial issues.
"I’m proud to announce that this diverse group of leaders from across Chicago will be co-chairing our transition," Lightfoot said in a statement. "It is a mix of experienced professionals who have worked long and hard for decades on the most pressing issues facing the city, and new voices bringing fresh perspectives."
She noted her team will offer a comprehensive report by May 20, which will "serve as the road map for the first 100 days of the Lightfoot Administration."
Lightfoot also said she's looking for Chicagoans to submit their resumes and "ideas for the future of Chicago," both of which are featured on bettertogetherchicago.com.
"If you want to be part of Mayor-elect Lightfoot’s administration, nobody has to send you," said special adviser Ra Joy. "You can send your resume directly to us. Chicago is full of talent; we’re looking forward to building a team that is diverse in every way, and ready to serve the people of Chicago."
