A Chicago man has been charged with kidnapping a woman in Northwest Indiana.
The Schererville Police Department filed charges against Nicholas Chaz Reed, 27, who allegedly forced his way into the home of 28-year-old Jessica Rose Rich in the 500 block of Ben Drive in Schererville and kidnapped her. The incident happened at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday.
Reed fled with Rich in a vehicle described as a late 1980's tan or gray Cadillac Eldorado or Seville. Police believe the two drove to Chicago.
Reed has been charged with kidnapping, robbery and burglary in connection with the incident.
