Chicago Uses Foursquare to Spread ‘Transformers' Love

City keeping Windy City "Transformers" love alive through Foursquare

Chicago doesn't want you forgetting who the real star is of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Following last summer's big-budget blast sessions along Michigan Avenue and in the Loop, the city's tourism office included the Michael Bay movie in its partnership with Foursquare.

Download the location-based app, follow Explore Chicago and check in at five locations where "Transformers" filmed to earn the "On Location" badge. Locations include: Hotel 71, the Old Chicago Post Office, the Skydeck at Willis Tower and the Lasalle Street Financial District, among others.

Surely memories of explosive commutes and car-flipping walks through throngs of ogling passerby will job your memory. But in case you forget, the city posted a map online.

The tourism site extends the badge offer for other films also shot in Chicago. Check in at five scenes from "The Blues Brothers," "The Dark Knight," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "High Fidelity" and various "chick flick" films to get it.
