Firefighter suffered broken ankle

A Chicago firefighter broke his ankle battling a blaze on the North Side early Thursday morning.

At about 1:40 a.m., firefighters responded to a call from 2342 N. Kedzie Avenue in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood.

The injured firefighter was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Chicago Sun-Times Media Wire. No details on the circumstances surrounding the firefighter's injury. Reports Thursday morning only said the injury was not life threatening.

No one else was injured. No word on the cause of the fire.
