Chicago Eateries Named Among Nation's “Best Wine List Restaurants”

Two Chicago restaurants and seven other Illinois eateries made the list

Chicago is home to some of the world’s top bars, and has even been named the best city for drinking in America, but now the city can claim another alcohol-related title.

Two Chicago restaurants were named among the 2014 Best Wine List Restaurants in America by OpenTable.

Bin 36, located at 339 N. Dearborn, was the top city restaurant named on the list of 100 wine list restaurants.

The list cited the eatery as a “casual, friendly and affordable spot where wine novices can enjoy over 50 wines by the glass.”

Everest, located at 440 S. LaSalle St., on the 40th floor of One Financial Place, was also named on the list.

“Under the culinary direction of Chef/Owner Jean Joho, Everest serves some of Chicago's finest personalized cuisine,” OpenTable said.

Seven other Illinois spots made the list.

Also named were Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Arlington Heights, Merrillville, Orland Park and Naperville, along with DOC Wine Bar in Lombard, Porter’s Steakhouse in Collinsville, and bacaro in Champaign.
