Chicago's City Council is set to vote on plans for filmmaker George Lucas' proposed museum.
The "Star Wars" director is planning the 300,000-square-foot Lucas Museum of Narrative Art along Lake Michigan.
A city zoning committee recommended approval of the proposed museum last week. The council is expected to take up the issue at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the same day it considers the city budget.
Construction could start in the spring, with the museum operating as early as 2019.
The nonprofit group Friends of the Parks sued the city park district over the plan. The group argues the museum isn't in the best interests of residents and will violate the public trust because it will be built on reclaimed land that was once Lake Michigan.
Lucas chose Chicago over San Francisco for the museum.
