Chicago Catholic Press to Publish English Translation of Pope Francis' Book

The publishing arm of the Chicago area Jesuits expects to have the book published by April

A Chicago Catholic press beat out the top publishing houses in the nation and has been granted the rights to produce the North American English translation of Pope Francis’ first book as the Pontiff.

Publishing rights for the book, “The Church of Mercy, My Vision for the Church,” were granted to Chicago’s Loyola Press, who made the announcement Thursday on their Facebook page.

The publishing arm of the Chicago area Jesuits expects to have the book published by April.

“Pope Francis has captured the world’s attention with his seemingly counterintuitive approach to leaders,” the company said on its website. “In ‘The Church of Mercy,’ readers get a first-hand look at Pope Francis’ vision of the good news of Christian hope and mercy.”

Readers can reserve copies starting March 13, the one-year anniversary of the pope’s election.
