Chicago Bulls Will Pick 14th in 2016 NBA Draft

The Chicago Bulls had a slight chance of moving up during the annual NBA Draft lottery on Tuesday night, but it was not meant to be as the team received the 14th overall selection.

The Bulls had a 0.5 percent chance of moving up to the number one overall selection in the draft, but the lottery balls didn’t fall their way. The Philadelphia 76’ers, who had a 25 percent chance of winning the top overall pick, ended up winning the lottery, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics also grabbing picks in the top three selections.

The Bulls were in the draft lottery for the first time since the 2008 season, when they won the number one overall pick. The Bulls, who only had a 1.9 percent chance of winning the selection, picked Derrick Rose in the NBA Draft that year.

With their selection, the Bulls could potentially grab a player from Europe to stash for the future, like they did with Nikola Mirotic, but they could also take a player that could help fill a role on the current roster, with a player like Tyler Ulls or Skal Labissiere potentially being available in the back end of the lottery portion of the first round.

The NBA Draft will take place on June 23, and will be broadcast on ESPN.
