Chicago Brewers Prepare for Beer Week

Chicago is brewing something crafty.

The annual Chicago Craft Beer Week schedule was announced Sunday and is tapped full of fermented fun.

The fest, which takes place May 16-26, will explore the city’s neighborhoods via local watering holes in this year’s theme, “Chicago: A City of Neighborhoods.”

The event is expected to include more than 250 venues, offering special tastings of rare beers for $4 and other special events throughout the week.

Participating venues include popular Chicago bars such as Goose Island, Small Bar and Paddy Mac's.

Participants can use the free official app available on iOS or Andriod to access event scheduled and check-in to earn points at the bars.

Chicago’s event coincides with American Craft Beer Week, May 13-19, and is one of many events paying homage to small, independent craft brewers around the country.
