An early-20th century mansion, which in part also serves as a haunted house in suburban Evanston, has been restored to its original glory after attempts at modernizing the grand structure.
Current owner Leslie Bull, one of four people to have owned the home in 117 years, told Crain’s Chicago Business that when she bought the house in 2001 from its third owners it “was ready to be brought back.”
Modernization attempts meant the home’s original wood had been covered with “gobs and layers of paint.”
The home's old coachhouse also serves as a walk-through haunted house for Halloween.
According to Bull, the home is expected to hit the market in the spring of 2019 with an asking price estimated at $2.5 million.
