A driver was killed and three others were injured Tuesday night when a car wound up on the Blue Line tracks near northwest suburban Rosemont.
At 8:36 p.m., the car got stuck on the tracks near Interstate 190 and Mannheim Road, according to Rosemont Police Sgt. Joe Balogh and CTA spokesman Brian Steele. The circumstances of the crash were not immediately known.
“Unfortunately there is no definitive narrative on what transpired here,” Steele said.
Balogh said four people were transported to hospitals, including one who was pulled from the car and three others who were on the train. As of early Wednesday, the driver had been pronounced dead, according to Illinois State Police.
The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality, and further details, including the driver's identity, were not available.
Steele said there was no significant damage to a train that came to a stop near the car. However, it was unclear whether the car collided with the train, according to Steele.
As of 10:50 p.m., Blue Line trains were only running between Harlem and Forest Park, according to a CTA alert. Shuttle buses are available between the O’Hare and Harlem stops to provide connecting service for affected passengers.

CTA officials also advised riders to consider other travel alternatives, including buses and other rail lines.
As of 10 p.m., westbound traffic on I-190 was reduced to a single lane near the scene of the crash, ISP said.
