Car Slams Into School Bus in West Chicago

No children on the bus were injured, police said

A car slammed into a school bus early Wednesday in West Chicago, police said.

The vehicle rear-ended the bus at 59th and Forest in the western suburb, sending the bus into a guard rail Children from a District 33 grammar school were aboard the bus, but none were injured.

Two people in the car were taken to an area hospital. Their condition is not known, though police confirmed their injuries are not fatal.

Route 59 was closed after the collision and is being reopened.
