A car plowed into the front of a suburban Chicago dry cleaner Monday morning, sending two people to the hospital, including the driver.

The vehicle entered Sanders Cleaners, on the 800 block of Sanders Road in Northbrook, at about 8:30 a.m. and came to a halt about 20 to 25 feet into the storefront, Fire Chief Mark Nolan said.

"Fortunately it didn't hit anyone inside the cleaners," Nolan said.

The female driver was transported to the hospital, but her condition wasn't immediately known. Another person, believed to be the store owner's wife, was inside when the crash occurred. She was visibly shaken and taken to the hospital for observation.

The car took out the store's front window, counter and part of the conveyor system holding clothes, but no structural damage was done, Nolan said.

Video of the scene showed part of the conveyor went through the car's windshield, shattering it.

"I hope the situation will clear soon," store owner JS Kim said, "but I don't know, we're concerned about the customers' clothes."
