Al Piemonte, well-known car dealer and owner of the Chicagoland auto dealership Al Piemonte Ford, has died, the dealership's sales representative confirmed Friday.
Piemonte passed away on Christmas Eve, the representative said.
The Chicago Tribune reports Piemonte, 83, was hospitalized with pneumonia about a month ago, but had recovered and was allowed back home.
His Ford dealership has remained among the top dealerships in the area for several years, and Piemonte is most known for his frequent presence in their commercials.
