Crystal Lake Escapee Recaptured by Police

Nearby residents advised to stay indoors

McHenry County Sheriff's have recaptured a handcuffed burglary suspect who escaped Wednesday night from a sheriff's vehicle in northwest suburban Crystal Lake.

James Henson, 44, of McHenry, was caught again after police responded to a complaint of someone trespassing in a Crystal Lake barn, police said.

The suspect reportedly kicked out the back window of a squad car near the intersection of Walkup and Hillside roads around 8 p.m., according to the Daily Herald.

Residents who live in the area received an automated voice message from McHenry County's emergency messaging system, telling them about the escape. They were advised to stay indoors.

The suspect was described as a white man last seen wearing a camouflage jacket, a hoodie, blue jeans and white gym shoes.
