Burglar Takes Nintendo Break

Woman comes home to find thief playing video games

It's all fun and games 'till someone gets sent to jail.

A 22-year-old woman left her Joliet apartment for about a half hour on Monday and returned home to find an intruder who'd apparently broken in and gotten distracted by a video game.

"When [she] opened the door, a man ran out ... and fled toward Black Road," said police reports.

The woman surveyed her apartment to see what the burglar had taken. Her bedroom was in shambles, and a pink iPod Touch was missing.

But fortunately, her Nintendo DS was still present and accounted for. In fact, it was turned on, "and it appears the suspect had been playing it," Deputy Chief Mike Trafton told The Herald-News.

The suspect has been described as approximately 20 years old, African-American, 5-foot-11, and 140 pounds, with short hair. He had letters tattooed on his right forearm.

You'll probably find him with his eyes glued to a video game.
