Boozer Set for Game 1

Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer says he will try to play in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday against the Atlanta Hawks after being limited by turf toe on his right foot.

He says it is feeling "a lot better," and he plans to suit up barring any setbacks during pregame warmups.

Coach Tom Thibodeau says Boozer will start if he's able to play and that he participated in about half of Monday's shootaround after practicing on a limited basis the previous day. Boozer sat out practice on Friday and Saturday.

His toe problem surfaced while scoring during the second quarter of Game 5 of the Bulls' opening-round series against Indiana.

Meanwhile, Derrick Rose went through the shootaround after missing Sunday's practice for a personal matter.

Fans visiting the United Center this evening will have to enter through metal detectors. The team says the detectors will be used for the remainder of the playoffs.
