Bones, Tissue Found in West Garfield Park Appear to Be Human, Adult

Adult clothing was also found near the bones

Two bones and some decomposed tissue that appear to belong to an adult were found in the West Garfield Park neighborhood Tuesday.

A right and left femur along with decomposed soft tissue were examined at the Cook County medical examiner's office, according to spokesperson Becky Schlikerman. Preliminary results show that the bones are human and belong to an adult due to their size.

Some adult clothing was also found near the bones and tested by the medical examiner, according to Schlikerman.

The body parts and clothing were discovered in the 400 block of North Kilbourn Avenue, Schlikerman said.

The cause and manner of death are pending further tests and possible DNA analysis, which could take several months, according to Schlikerman.
