Blue Angels Returning to Chicago Air Show

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights are returning to the annual Chicago Air and Water Show.

The Blue Angels and the Golden Knights suspended their 2013 performance schedule last spring after forced federal spending cuts. That led to the cancellation of several air shows across the U.S., as the Blue Angels are often the big draw for those attending.

The Blue Angels have been entertaining air show attendees since 1946. The group maneuvers at high speed over the air show crowd in their F/A-18 Hornets.

Chicago officials said Tuesday the Air and Water Show, which will take place August 16 and 17 on the Lake Michigan shore, will feature a number of civilian dare-devil acts in addition to the military teams.
