Anthony Davis to Replace Blake Griffin On Team USA

Griffin suffered a twisted knee during a Team USA scrimmage on Wednesday

Anthony Davis didn't make the cut last week when Team USA finalized its 2012 Olympic roster, most likely because of an ankle sprain sustained during workouts with the US National Team.

But Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Los Angeles Clippers superstar Blake Griffin suffered a knee injury on Wednesday during training camp in Las Vegas. As a result, Chicago native Anthony Davis has been asked to report to Las Vegas for training camp as soon as he can.

Griffin reportedly twisted his knee during a scrimmage, and the severity of the injury remains unclear. He will fly back to Los Angeles for an MRI as soon as today.

Griffin just signed a five-year, $95 million dollar extension earlier in the week.

Davis was this year's number one overall NBA Draft pick of the New Orleans Hornets. Davis will continue to get treatment for his injured ankle.
