Biden Hosts Fund-Raiser Lunch in Chicago

Tickets cost between cost $5,000 and $10,000 to attend

Vice President Joe Biden stuck around Chicago Monday after the president and first lady departed following the weekend's Jarrett wedding.

Biden and wife Jill headed to Chicago Cut Steakhouse, at 300 N. LaSalle, for a fundraiser lunch alongside Steve Cohen, Thomas Hart and Sandy Stein.

Tickets to the 1:25 p.m. luncheon cost $5,000 to $10,000 to attend.

Jill Biden then speaks at the 2012 National Conference on Volunteering and Service, being held in Chicago through Wednesday.

Former first lady Barbara Bush also will speak at the opening session, as well as Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Gov. Pat Quinn, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Chicago Bear Israel Idonije.

“Our city has a remarkable history of combining service with innovation,” said Emanuel in a statement. “We’re proud to host this year’s conference to facilitate conversation about not only what has worked in the past, but to discuss innovative solutions for the future of civic engagement and volunteering.”
