Cash on the Interstate? Finders Keepers Doesn't Apply.

Stray cash is bank property, said police

Finders keepers doesn't apply.

Indiana authorities on Tuesday offered the reminder that any cash found along the Interstate is federal property and should be turned into police.

The warning comes days after a bank robbery in La Porte, Ind., was followed by a more than 100 mile police chase that included money being tossed out of a vehicle's window.

David Ziesel, 32, was ultimately arrested at a home in Elburn. He's now in custody in Indiana and could face up to 25 years in prison.
