The finance website looked at 222 cities across the state, evaluating each on four criteria, including family life and fun; education, health and safety; affordability; and socio-economics.
The top five cities on the ranking in Illinois were Naperville, Libertyville, Troy, Washington and Columbia.
Naperville was noted for its attractions and its high ranking for socio-economics.
Chicago ranked among the worst on the list, sitting at no. 215 of 222.
