Bears Place Marquess Wilson on Season-Ending Injured Reserve

Wilson has been dealing with a foot injury, and is the second Bears player to be placed on IR this week

The Chicago Bears had to make some adjustments to their roster because of injury on Saturday, as wide receiver Marquess Wilson was placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Wilson, who has been battling a foot injury, is the second Bears player to be placed on IR this week, joining tight end Martellus Bennett.

To replace Wilson on the roster, the Bears elevated safety Demontre Hurst from the practice squad.

The Bears have been dealing with plenty of injuries to their pass-catchers this season, but the double-whammy of losing Bennett and Wilson is especially painful considering the uncertain status of Eddie Royal. The wide receiver did return to practice this week, but there’s no telling if he’ll be at full strength when the Bears take on Washington on Sunday.

As for Hurst, he may get thrown directly into the fire on Sunday, as cornerback Bryce Callahan is questionable for the game with an injury. That could mean Hurst gets into the game on nickel plays, but warm-ups on Sunday will reveal the decision of the coaching staff.
