Bank of America Chicago Marathon Training Week 15: Hit Your Peak

Running this long of a distance felt like a roller coaster to me

Twenty miles: it’s hard to believe this is the week, I run 20 miles.

Running this long of a distance felt like a roller coaster to me. There are points where I feel incredible. Then, there comes the doubt and exhaustion. 

I pop in another gel to give me a boost. It works for a few miles and then doubt creeps back into my head. 

When I hit mile 15, my husband texted me, “Keep it going. You got this!” 

Sometimes that’s all you need. The confidence boost from those we love dear to keep us going. 

20 miles is done. I’m a bit sore as I sit here and write this, but it’s the “vindicated” kind of pain. It feels good to have accomplished my longest run before I run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon!
