At Least 14 Arrested Amid Celebrations in Wrigley After Cubs Win

More than a dozen people were arrested amid the raucous celebration outside Wrigley Field Wednesday after the Chicago Cubs won their first World Series in more than a century.

According to the Office of Emergency Management, at least 14 people were arrested as of 3 a.m. Thursday. The arrests were primarily for disorderly conduct and reckless conduct, officials said.

The cheers in Wrigleyville could be heard for miles as hundreds of thousands of fans hit the streets in celebration, prompting several street closures and transportation reroutes.

Video circulating on social media early Thursday morning appeared to show a member of the crowd pushing a traffic light off its pole and into the street in Wrigleyville.

Police did not immediately respond to request for comment and it wasn't clear if anyone was arrested or charged.

But a photo shows an officer carrying an apparently dislodged traffic light through the crowded streets of Wrigleyville.

A large police presence was visible outside Wrigley Field following the Cubs victory as barricades were erected in the jam-packed North Side neighborhood.

Bus routes, train platforms and streets in the area were all closed for a portion of the night.
