Assistant Football Coach at Hubbard High Killed, 3 Others Wounded in Englewood Drive-By Shooting

A man was shot dead and three others were wounded early Sunday outside a birthday party in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, police said.

Authorities identified 35-year-old Ari Armour as the man who was shot and killed in the 1200 block of West 73rd Place.

About 2:25 a.m., three men and a woman were gathered outside, when two people drove by in an SUV and started shooting, Chicago Police said.

Armour was shot in the head and back. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

A Facebook Live video caught the scene just before gunshots erupted. 

"They're shooting! They shooting!" someone is heard shouting as the phone falls to the ground. 

As the screen went black, gunshots could be heard ringing out in rapid succession, killing Armour and injuring three others.

According to his sister, Armour was a security guard and assistant football coach at Hubbard High School in West Lawn; he was a huge Cubs fan.

A 25-year-old woman was shot in her leg and upper body, police said. She was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

A 32-year-old man was struck in his torso, police said. He was in serious condition at Stroger Hospital.

A 19-year-old man was taken with to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with a gunshot wound in his leg. His condition had stabilized.

The shooting happened near a birthday party, residents at the scene said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office did not immediately release details about the fatality.
