Appellate Court Judge Dies in Chicago Chambers

An Illinois appellate court judge has died.

Supreme Court spokesman Joseph R. Tybor says Judge Patrick J. Quinn died Wednesday in his chambers at the First District Appellate Court in Chicago. The cause of the 60-year-old Quinn's death has not been disclosed.

A graduate of the University of Illinois-Chicago and the John Marshall Law School, Quinn was elected to the appellate court in 1996 and won a retention election in 2006. His term was scheduled to end in December 2016.

An autopsy has been scheduled.
