A 2-year-old Wisconsin girl was found on Chicago's South Side

Police have found a missing 2-year-old Wisconsin girl and her father on Chicago's South Side.

An Amber Alert was issued early Wednesday in Illinois and Wisconsin for Iryana Vaugh, who police think was taken by her father, Iryin K. Vaughn.

Iryana's 27-year-old mother was found murdered in Racine, Wis., just after midnight, police said, and Iryin is wanted for questioning. The father and daughter likely left minutes before police arrived to the scene at 900 Racine St., officials said.

Iryana was found safe at about 5:30 a.m. in the 9800 block of South Yates, Chicago Police News Affairs confirmed. She was taken to Comer Children's Hospital. Iryin Vaughn was taken into police custody.

Iryin was believed headed to Chicago, police said.

Police were looking for a blue 1998 Ford Explorer with Illinois plates reading L320893. The vehicle was recovered a block from where Iryin Vaughn was taken into custody, police said.

Chicago Police continue to investigate.
