A Highland Park teen has settled a civil suit filed against her after she was accused of "huffing" a cleaning product before driving the car that killed a 5-year-old girl last year.
Court records show that the civil suit filed by the family of Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento against Carly Rousso was settled last month for an undisclosed amount of money, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Rousso, 18, is accused of driving under the influence when her Lexus jumped a curb and plowed into a family walking on the sidewalk, killing the young girl on Labor Day.
Police say toxicology reports turned up difluoroethane in Rousso's system, an ingredient commonly found in cleaning air cans -- one of which authorities say was found in her car following the accident.
Rousso is free on $500,000 bond. The trial on her criminal charges, including two counts of reckless homicide and four counts of aggravated driving under the influence, was pushed back to September 27, according to the Tribune.
