A Tail of Two Pooches: Senior Brother Pups Adopted by Loving Family

The story they read was that of Sam and Cosmo--pooches in an Indiana shelter since June then transferred to one in Tinley Park in hopes their forever home could finally be found.

The fate of two bonded brothers could have been even worse had Tiffany and Eric Dybas not come into their lives through a newspaper story they read.

“They’re so attached to each other, always looking out for each other, I think they would be heartbroken if their were kept apart," Tiffany said.

Tiffany and Eric had just lost their Chihuahua Brutus after 16 years.

“I cant put it into words you know," Eric said. "Just a lot of grief ... he was our kid."

The story they read was that of Sam and Cosmo--pooches in an Indiana shelter since June then transferred to one in Tinley Park in hopes their forever home could finally be found.

"The girl that I talked to was kind of almost like heartbroken and she said I’ve gotten so many calls about them but nobody comes to see them," Eric recalled.

It seems two factors were not in their favor: age and togetherness.

“We figure if we love them and care for them and give them the best life we can we’d be the ones rewarded for the experience," Tiffany said.

What a catch it was for all four of them. Now under one roof for the holidays.

“We stopped and got them a spa treatment on the home," Eric said laughingly. "And here we are ya know.”
