A fire in his Lincoln Park apartment left an 85-year-old man in serious to critical condition Saturday night.
The blaze started around 10:30 p.m. on the third floor of a building at 2757 N. Pine Grove Ave., according to the Chicago Fire Department. The fire may have started on a couch.
The man suffered “full thickness burns to his entire body,” the fire department said.
Responding crews saw flames coming from the third floor and the blaze was elevated to a still-and-box alarm, which was controlled about 11:05 p.m.
