Nick Curley set a goal before summer began to skate five miles in 20 different ice rinks to raise $25,000 for charity.
On Sunday, the 8-year-old skated the remaining five miles of his 100-mile goal in front of a roaring crowd at Allstate Arena during the Chicago Wolves game.
Fans at the game were encouraged to text “WISH” to 800-97 to donate $5 to his charity, Danny Did Foundation. The charity is named for a young boy who suddenly died from epilepsy.
Curley said he chose the charity because he has a cousin who is epileptic and wanted to help raise awareness.
So far, Curley has raised $16,000 towards his goal of $25,000. Those who are interested in donating or for more information can visit the Danny Did Foundation website.
