7 Wounded in Overnight Shootings Across the City

Seven people were wounded in separate shootings overnight across the city, including two near the United Center and one downtown.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the back Friday around 10:30 p.m. while walking down an alley in the 300 block of West 104th Street, police said. Two shooters got out of a grey vehicle and fired at him, said police. The boy was able to make it on his own to Roseland Hospital where he is listed in "stable" condition.

A 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were shot by an unknown shooter during an argument close to the United Center in the 100 block of North Damen Avenue at 10:42 p.m., according to police. The unknown male shooter took out a hand gun and shot both the man and woman in the leg, police said. They were both taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in “stable” condition, police said.

Police have made no arrests.

A half an hour later in Garfield Park on the West Side, a man was shot multiple times in the leg at 11:08 p.m., police said, citing preliminary information. The man took himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he is listed in "stable" condition, police said.

Details on the shooter were not yet known.

Early Saturday morning, a 25-year-old man was shot by a man on a bicycle trying to rob him in the River North neighborhood. The man was leaving a bar in the 700 block of North Franklin Street at 3:15 a.m. when the attempted robbery occurred, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. The suspect shot the victim in the leg and then fled on the bike without any proceeds, said Greer.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

At 3:40 a.m., a man in his 20's was shot in the 7900 block of South Stony Island Avenue on the South Side, said Greer, citing preliminary information. He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the shoulder and elbow.

In the West Town neighborhood, a man in his 20's was shot in the abdomen in the 1100 block at 4:00 a.m., Greer said, citing preliminary information. He was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in "stable" condition.

No one is in custody for the shootings and detectives are investigating.
