A deputy court clerk in southwestern Illinois discovered seven dead kittens lined up in a Belleville park.
Rosemary Lantz tells the Belleville News-Democrat she was walking her dog Tuesday night when the pet sniffed out the kittens near railroad tracks just off the park's trail.
The worker in the St. Clair County Circuit Clerk's Office says the cats had traces of blood coming from different parts of their bodies. A police officer summoned to the scene says the kittens appeared to have died from some sort of trauma.
