6-Year-Old Shot on Chicago's Far South Side

The young victim was listed in good condition at Comer Children's Hospital

A 6-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Monday on Chicago's Far South Side, police said.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., the young boy and an adult male were walking in the area of 83rd Street and Exchange when they heard gunshots, and the boy felt pain. The young boy sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in good condition.

No one was in custody as of Monday evening. The incident remains under investigation by Area South detectives.
